Dr. Casey Terzian

The child’s brain is constantly growing, changing, and evolving. It is important to identify any differences in a young person’s development that may lead to difficulties in their everyday life. Each child has their own individual strengths and weaknesses, and I use my knowledge of the pediatric brain, as well as individual context and information about your child, to ensure they receive the appropriate support they need during this critical developmental window of time.

As a pediatric neuropsychologist, I use neuropsychological assessment to gather data about your child and tailor any recommendations for specific supports they may need. This includes standardized testing of various cognitive and behavioral abilities, as well as background information and clinical interview to provide perspective on their lives outside of the practice walls. I primarily focus on school age children and adolescents to determine personal, academic, and therapeutic interventions that may be most beneficial for them. As a licensed psychologist, I also use cognitive-behavioral approaches to treat common childhood conditions such as anxiety, depression, autism, and ADHD.

I began my journey spending time with peers with developmental disabilities as early as elementary school, ultimately serving as president of my local Best Buddies chapter in Upstate NY. I went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA before receiving my doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) with a concentration in Neuropsychology from William James College in Newton, MA. I completed my predoctoral internship and 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, a multidisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Baltimore, MD. I have had experience with a wide variety of medical conditions, developmental disorders, and severity presentations; and I have worked with children and adults of various ages, gender and sexual identities, and cultural backgrounds throughout my training – all of which informs how I understand your child.

Outside of the office, I enjoy hiking and adventuring outdoors with my husband and daughter, and our dog, Winston. I am a big fan of crosswords and puns, so you may find them up, down, and across my office. I look forward to meeting with you!
